Trek to Re-energize America

Hi everyone!
Michaela Skiles, from Middlebury,  is organizing the Northeast leg of the Trek to Re-Energize America, the mass bike trip converging in D.C. this July to rally congress for climate change legislation. She is asking people at  other schools if they could send her the names and contact information of anyone active in bike activism on their campuses, people who just like to bike, or people interested in climate change policy.  She is looking for both riders and volunteers to help recruit more riders.   You can  email her at, mskiles@middlebury.edu.  Also, you can check out www.trektoreenergize.org for more info.

Meeting Goals

Hey everybody! – I thought it would be useful to post what we hope to accomplish for our next meeting on the 13th. Here’s what I wrote down as our primary goals:

  • Come up with definitive list of people to come to Middlebury on May 2nd
  • Decide if will want to stay overnight at Middlebury Friday or Saturday (so we can start organizing the giant slumber party)
  • Continue trying to contact and involve other schools
  • Continue posting summaries of environmental meetings on blog
  • Brainstorm collaborative Earth Day ideas
  • Continue streamlining blog

I think this covers most of it, but if I missed anything let me know!  Talk to you on Monday!

Some Blog Updates

Just wanted to let you guys know that I added some category tags so that as we are posting we can identify what school we are from.

.. and we’ll also be able to just click on the category tags on the left and instantly see all the posts from each school.

Also, I updated the links portion of the page so now we can all access the VSEC listserv/active members list. (it also might be useful to just update out statuses on that list to indicate whether or not we are coming to the meeting on the 2nd)

And one more thing. I’m looking into embedding calendars into the page and coming up short. I’ll keep you all posted, but let me know if anyone knows anything about this.
